How To Repair Chewed-off Eyes On Stuffed Animal

  • #1

I have a stuffed simba that I got when I was eight. I have had him for 17 years and he is (was) in pretty good condition. I accidentally left him at a friend's firm and his dog got a hold of him. I was able to fix the hole in his pes but the domestic dog chewed off his eye. I was able to salvage the eye and it is non badly damaged. I need some aid with the all-time way to get information technology back on. Information technology can non exist sewn it is going to have to exist glued. Too simba now smells like dog anyone have any ideas of how I can clean him??

Any help anyone has on how I can save my simba please let me know. I would like for him to be able to make it on his second trip to disney world when we get out this week.

Today has been a very sad solar day for me...

When I use the girls' stuffies that are getting old I do the pillowcase affair and and then wash them on a regular cycle with cold/common cold with their sheets and/or blankets. :) expert luck with Simba!

If I were y'all I would not wash your Simba in the washer and and so put him in the dryer. I think doing a gentle handwashing might be better and and then (after gently squeezing excess water out) possibly laying your 'friend' on a sweater-dryer (basically a net stretched-out on and fastened-to a frame). Too, if you decide to put the eye back on *later* washing, you lot might want to gently hand-stitch upwardly any hole prior to washing/drying so you friend doesn't possibly leak any stuffing.

Regarding the 'scent'...blistering-soda is very gentle and can have out almost any smell out of cloth. You could maybe try a baking-soda & water rinse and then let 'Simba' air-dry.

Good luck,
agnes!

THANK You lot Anybody! You have no thought how much this helped. I tried blistering soda in a bag and shaking him around in it and so letting him sit that helped quite a bit. Afterward I brushed the baking soda out I used a cleaner solution from build a bear and a washcloth.

It has washed an amazing chore simba is on my back porch on a rack taking a hot texas drying bath. He is drying nicely and smells fresh and make clean.

Likewise I used textile glue to put his eye back on and he tin can see over again!

Cheers to everyone that helped!

Awww, a happy catastrophe!! :goodvibes

I'k going to try some of these tips for DD13'due south "lovey" dog that she's slept with forever. I've never tried to wash it...and you tin TELL. :crazy2: I really started to launder it last week and she begged me not to, as information technology says correct on the tag "surface clean only" (yes, it'southward yet legible! :lmao:). She'south afraid it would be damaged in the washer.

I'll endeavor the baking soda "shake and bathe" and I didn't think near Build-a-Bear selling cleaner. I'll grab some of that next time I'm near by (since it's right next to the Disney Store - lol).
